Fantasy League

Online gaming at it's best. Fantasy Football, Golf, NASCAR, our very own Hall of Fame, LORD, and whatever else anyone wants to talk about.

Fantasy League

Postby shark on Sat Dec 05, 2009 2:02 am

This idea was posted in the Serenity Football League and I loved it so much that I wanted to try it here. (Props to B.S. for that.) We pretty much play together as it is, might as well make it official.

So here are the details that I've managed to hammer down concerning the Fantasy League. If you have questions, comments, or concerns, NOW is the time to ask.

1.) FOUR Main Scoring Events.

The four official scoring events are: NASCAR, Hockey, Basketball, Football.

2.) Scoring.

Points will be awarded based on how you finish in each event. Since I'm unsure of how many people we will have playing, here is the point scale.

1st Place - 100 points
2nd Place - 90 points
3rd Place - 75 points
4th Place - 60 points
5th Place - 55 points
6th Place - 50 points
7th Place - 45 points
8th Place - 40 points
9th Place - 35 points
10th Place - 30 points
(if we have more than 10 League players, the score will drop by 5 each place)

3. BONUS EVENTS / POINTS

A very small amount of points will be awarded for participating in certain extra events. A (+5) point bonus will be awarded JUST FOR PLAYING in these events. A (+10) point bonus will be awarded if you WIN the event. The current list of Extra Events:

2010 Fantasy Golf
2010 College Football Pick'um
2010 NFL Pick'um
2010 College Basketball Tournament Pick'um

In addition, bonus points will be awarded throughout the Season of each of the 4 main events. Such points may include, but not be limited to:

+5 points for winning a "Season" of NASCAR.
+5 points for winning a "Season" of Golf.
+5 points for making the playoffs in any event.
+10 points for a perfect week in any Pick'um (must be at least 6 or more picks)
+50 for any UNDEFEATED season (only in VS format)

4. PARTICIPATION

Simply put: Once you are playing, you HAVE to play. If you join late that is fine; however, you are still required to participate in ALL FOUR MAIN EVENTS. Bonus events may be joined late as well; however, you need to participate in these events. Simply signing up will not do. Any kind of effort is required to net you the bonus points.

5. INDIVIDUAL GAME SETTINGS

In order to boost participation I am going to set up the games a little differently than the past. Once all of the FL players are signed up, I will change the game to a Public League. Hopefully this will help fill up the game, thus making it much more competitive. BY ALL MEANS, invite friends and family to play in any of the events. A full game is much more fun to play. (As a second benefit, we may pick-up a few new followers)

PLEASE NOTE: Fantasy League Players will have FIRST SIGN UP rights in ALL SPORTS. Last year we had a full roster in football, so this may become an issue. Also, those Fantasy League players who did not play football with us last year will receive draft locations IMMEDIATELY BELOW those people who did. (i'll explain later.) Main thing to remember: Fantasy League Players are GUARANTEED a roster spot.

NO.

Or at least, I had not planned on it. When I initially floated the idea of the Fantasy League, not enough people wanted to play golf for me to add it. If we get a large enough turn out, we can change that.

How about . . . . . all those who PARTICIPATE get +1 point in the overall standings of the League?

Are we going to do the survivor football again next year? And if we do will it count in the point system?

I plan to play all of our usual games, regardless. As far as making it a bonus game, what does everyone else think? I don't have a problem with it. Hell, I'm sure I can work a point structure into that as well.

ANY ONE ELSE??? YES OR NO on Survival Football being a Bonus Event.

Count me in - This is Rodney, manager of the Flint Generals. from the yahoo fantasy football league.

I go by Rodney or Dellis - I set my yahoo id up years ago and used my real name to set it up, but from all of the online games, mainly World of Warcraft, most people know me as Dellis. So yeah, I repsond to both and sometimes more colorful names as well :)

SWEET. Welcome aboard Dellis. I think you will find that we are a fairly loose group of people who mainly just want to enjoy ourselves as much as possible while bearing the over-sized chains of life. :D:

As far as the Fantasy League goes, I appreciate any input you might have. While we openly communicate among ourselves, an outside pair of eyes is always welcome. If you know of anyone else that may want to play, bring them along as well.
